On Friday 22nd November 2019 we celebrated the annual BRA ladies lunch in aid of Breast reconstruction awareness.
The event attracted more than 100 ladies to Channels Golf Club where the day started with a glass of bubbly and entertainment by the fantastic voice of Nurse Asha Lawrence. There were many Christmas stalls to start Christmas shopping followed by a two course lunch, as well as enjoying a talk by BRA fundraising cyclists Carol Palmer and Louise Quinn.
The lunch was originally started as a fund raising event and although it still does raise money for the charity, it has become over the years a way of thanking the many volunteers who attend the BRA group evenings (Breast Reconstruction Awareness). They continually support newly diagnosed women who are about to go through mastectomy and are considering reconstruction at the same time.
The annual seasonal lunch raised more than £1,500 for Breast Reconstruction Awareness Charity (BRA)and a large number of Christmas gifts and treats were bought and taken home by those who attended.
