Vikki Drain’s Incredible Marathon Effort Raises Over £2,000 for Breast Reconstruction Support
Broomfield Breast Reconstruction nurse, Vikki Drain, took on an incredible challenge in June 2024, completing the Cotswold Way Ultra Marathon to raise funds for the Breast Reconstruction Awareness support group. Vikki raised an impressive £2,138.64, which will directly benefit patients undergoing breast reconstruction surgery and treatment.
The 100km marathon, starting at 7 am, saw Vikki and her friends walking continuously throughout the day and night without rest.
Clair Dade, Fundraising Coordinator for Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity, said, “We are so grateful for Vikki’s amazing fundraising. Pushing herself to go well above and beyond for the patients she knows will benefit so much from her efforts, enabling continued access to crucial resources and support during such tough times after breast cancer.”
